Roe Rut - New Grounds & Syndicate Availability

Capreolus Club gets 1000 acres of new grounds near Guildford in Surrey, just in time for this years Roe rut.

Roe Rut Licensed 1

With this year’s Roe rut getting underway, the Capreolus Club is delighted to have just signed the lease on 1000 acres of fresh stalking grounds near Guildford, Surrey.

500 acres are to become immediately available to the club's deer stalking syndicate from 20th July and as a result, the club is pleased to be able to offer additional syndicate places, through the PLUS scheme.

Whats more, the remaining 500 acres of adjacent ground has been reserved purely for members of the club who require accompanied, guided stalking.

Capreolus Club is the official members club of County Deer Stalking and we’re determined to ensure that our grounds are not over-shot, so only offer new places on the syndicate when we have the capacity to meet demand. This time, demand for the PLUS scheme continues to be met by adding this further, superb area of prime Roe stalking in the Surrey Hills, whilst the increase in guided deer stalking by members since the 'lockdown' has eased has also been met by reserving the additional neighbouring 500 acres.

Just 45 mins from London, easily accessible via the M25, and set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, with its rolling hills, woods and pastures, these new grounds are simply stunning, and having not been stalked for several years, will undoubtedly prove popular with members of the shooting club.

Interestingly, here is what a new member of the Capreolus Club PLUS scheme had to say about existing grounds in an email to the club chairman and club secretary just last week:

“Chaps visited the ground this morning and what an eye opener. Six does two with single fawns and three bucks, two of which I had to take a double check as I thought they were reds the size of the head gear! Sadly, these were in the field in front of the big house (out of bounds sods law). I stood watching them for a while and out the corner of my eye, in the big field with the two high seats in, comes strolling up the field an even bigger buck! Over the moon to have seen such quality beasts on my first session. Thank you very much for allowing me to join”.

Clearly, with the addition of these further areas, both of which are added at no additional cost, we hope that our members will be even more pleased with what the club has to offer.

At County Deer Stalking we reckon that the Roe rut tends to get underway in the UK from around the 23rd July, so the fact that these new grounds have come just in time for the commencement of the 2020 Roe rut, will be a massive benefit to both the club's stalking syndicate members and to those members who prefer to be guided.

As usual, the club has gone to great length to ensure that there is clear, professional mapping of the ground, illustrating boundaries, extraction points, footpaths and parking etc.

From the 20th July, Capreolus Club members will be able to utilise this new ground, along with other grounds in Surrey, East Sussex, Hampshire, West Sussex and Wiltshire, on a simple book and go basis.

With its plentiful deer and beautiful grounds, the Capreolus Club Plus scheme, deer stalking syndicate, has proven to be the finest deer stalking syndicate in the south of England.

For club members who possess their own Firearm Certificate, a simple upgrade to the PLUS scheme, offers first-class, unlimited, unaccompanied, Book-and-Go Deer Stalking for Fallow, Roe & Muntjac 365 days a year over 3,500 acres of beautiful countryside, in a variety of locations around the south of England, all easily accessible from London and the home counties, with just 24 hours-notice.
