This Christmas the Naval & Military Club hosts London based Deer Stalking Club the 'Capreolus Club'.
Established in 1862 the Naval & Military Club, or In & Out Club as it is more informally known, is one of those quintessential British members club’s in the heart of London, that boasts a host of high calibre members, not least of which is his Royal Highness Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh, who is president of the club and has been a member since 1947.

Having recently relocated from Piccadilly, the club’s current premises at 4 St James’s Square was the former home of Waldorf and Nancy Astor, before being purchased by the Naval & Military Club in 1996. Over the years members have included no fewer that thirty-three past recipients of the Victoria Cross and George Cross.
With a number of Capreolus Club members also being members of the Naval & Military Club, this long established and prestigious venue, was the location of this year’s Capreolus Club Christmas event, and there was plenty to celebrate.

Just two and a half years since the Capreolus Club was launched in April 2015 at the world-famous Annabel’s in Mayfair, this thriving and friendly, London based, deer stalking and large game hunting club, is approaching 100 strong, and like the Naval & Military Club boasts a range of high calibre members, all of whom share a common interest and passion for safe and sustainable hunting.
To help celebrate, the Capreolus Club also welcomed London based Gunmakers John Rigby & Co, who proudly displayed examples of their highly acclaimed ‘Highland Stalker Rifle’.

Having resumed its historic relationship with Mauser in 2013 and having relocated back to London in 2014, John Rigby & Co have been one of the UK’s greatest gun making success stories, and Managing Director Marc Newton was on hand to speak with club members about the company’s proud history.
During the course of the evening, members and their partners enjoyed drinks and a delightful range of canapes, and heard speeches from both the club’s African PH and Club Chairman Peter Jones, who also awarded a bottle John Rigby & Co 18 Year Old Single Malt Whisky to the winner of this years ‘Woodland Stalker Challenge’.
In his speech, Capreolus Club Chair Peter Jones, spoke of the huge diversity of talent amongst club members and thanked members for their support and personal contribution’s to making the Capreolus Club the huge success that it has been.
