Accompanied stalking & training is carried out by one of our highly experienced and qualified stalkers, all of whom are accomplished, full time professional deer managers.

We provide deer stalking outings for all six of the UK’s deer species, on picturesque estates, across five counties in the South East of England, all within one hour of London. We cater for all levels of experience ranging from beginners to more accomplished deer stalkers and foreign visitors: See outings for more information.

The company’s other main focus, is delivering a pioneering range of deer stalking courses. Our ‘Proficient Deer Stalker’ training courses bring a unique level of practical training to those who wish to develop their skills and become proficient hunters: proficient-stalker

For those who which to improve their marksmanship skills, we also offer structured firearms training via our 'Proficient Marksman' course. We are able to provide experience with a variety of deer legal calibres and big game hunting calibres, ranging from calibres such as the .243 and .308 all the way up to the .416 Rigby, at ranges out to 300 meters, all less than one hour from London: firearms-training

Director Profiles

Editorpic150County Deer Stalking was originally formed by Peter Jones, a full time professional Deer Stalker and former Police Detective in the Metropolitan Police. Peter has been hunting and stalking a variety of game throughout the UK, Europe and Africa for the last 25 years. Peter possesses Deer Management Qualifications: PDS1 & PDS2, DSC1 and DSC2 and is an Approved Witness in deer management qualifications.

During his career in the Police, Peter served within the CID on various London Crime Squads, and was awarded a 'Commendation for Bravery & Professionalism' for his handling of an armed incident, before retiring from the Police Force with an 'Exemplary Service Certificate'. In addition to managing the deer on our portfolio of estates and acting as a guide to our clients, Peter is Editor of ‘County Deer Stalking Online Magazine’ and writes regular articles and reviews about all things deer stalking.

Mott150County Deer Stalking’s other director is James Mott. James joined the company in 2013 and is a highly accomplished and experienced stalker and hunting guide, with 20 years experience hunting deer and other game in the UK, Europe and Africa. James has deer management qualifications PDS1 & PDS2 and DSC1 & DSC2.

Whilst James regularly contributes articles to the online magazine, his main day to day focus is on estate management, guiding clients, and running many of the excellent training courses that are on offer. Including the hugely popular 'Proficient Deer Stalkers Course'. 

Also part of the 'County Deer Stalking' team is Justin Carter 

Justin Carter 150Having been brought up in a forestry and farming background, Justin soon found a love of wildlife and field sports and spent many years running a woodland and wildlife management business.  

Justin has been stalking in the UK for the last 15 years and has also spent several years hunting and working in Africa, where he was involved in game capture and relocation of African animals. He has qualifications in the UK in Darting and Immobilisation of deer as well as PDS1 & PDS2 and DSC1 & DSC2 and Meat Hygiene.

Today Justin is responsible for carrying out many stalk outings with County Deer Stalking clients and plays an active role in other forms of shooting and hunting. .
