June 2017 - Deer Stalkers Almanac

At County Deer Stalking missed shots are something that we constantly strive to reduce.

Firearms training almanac 2

There is no denying that on the deer stalking front june can be a slow month. Of course Roebuck are in season, as are Muntjac, however you’ll have to work hard to find either. The Roe are lethargic and the Muntjac all but invisible in the high ground cover. That’s not to say that a professional guide won’t be able to find you a deer, it is just that your time might be better spent fine tuning your marksmanship skills.

It is shocking how many people miss when the big moment arrives and this is largely down to a lack of practice, the sorry truth of the matter is, most amateur stalkers fire most of their shots at live targets.

At County Deer Stalking missed shots are something that we constantly strive to reduce amongst our clients via our professional, structured firearms training carried out on interactive, life size steel targets. As deer stalkers, professional or otherwise, we have a duty to our quarry to be the best marksman that we can be. With most species being off limits in June, the excitement of the Roe rut still to come, and the Stag season in Scotland due to recommence in July, June is the perfect time to brush up on your technique and get in some practice.

If you’d like to hone your marksmanship skills with some firearms training, then why not try our comprehensive firearms-training, that is designed to get you shooting comfortably from a variety of positions, tighten your groups and extend your abilities out to 300 metres. Either use your own rifle or one of ours, we can offer quality firearms in a variety of calibres fitted with the finest optics, all within less than an hour of London.
